My Piggy Bank | Australian Money Craft | Year 2
How many ways can you make $1?
Students make a piggy bank, then fill in "I can make" slips showing different ways to make the same amount with Australian coins and notes. It's a gorgeous craft and display that builds the idea that one amount can be made many ways.
What's included:
- How to Use page
- Piggy bank in colour and black and white
- "I can make" slips from 10c to $100
- Australian coins and notes to cut out
- Terms of Use
How it works:
- Students colour and cut out their pig.
- They choose an amount and an "I can make" slip.
- They glue coins and notes on the slip to make the amount.
- Display the pigs and slips: how many ways did the class find?
Why teachers love it:
- Hands-on making amounts different ways
- Turns into a bright money display
- Slips from 10c to $100 for every level
- Coins and notes included, so no extra prep
