Introduce the short /e/ sound with this delightful Letter E display card — as easy as "egg"!

The letter E is one of the most important vowels in the English language, and this display card helps make it memorable for early learners. Featuring upper and lowercase E alongside the short /e/ sound as in "egg", this card is a clear, colourful anchor for students learning their vowel sounds. E is also a letter with a unique formation — three horizontal lines reaching out from a vertical spine — which makes it fun to trace and write.

Add this card to your alphabet display and give the letter E the prominent vowel spotlight it deserves.

Why teachers love it:

  • Vowel focus — highlights the short /e/ sound as in "egg", an essential building block in early phonics
  • Formation support — shows both upper and lowercase E clearly for handwriting reference
  • Visually engaging — bright, appealing design catches students' eyes on the wall display
  • Alphabet set compatible — pairs seamlessly with the full alphabet card range

Perfect for:

  • Alphabet frieze and vowel sound displays
  • Short vowel phonics focus weeks
  • Prep, Foundation, and Year 1 literacy programmes
  • Letter of the week activities centred on E
  • Literacy corners and reading areas

What's included:
A single printable PDF alphabet display card for the letter E, featuring upper and lowercase forms and a short /e/ sound keyword image.

Every great reader starts with the vowels — let E lead the way!
