Interview with a Classmate | Back to School | Digital Download
Kick off the school year with our "Interview with a Classmate" activity! Designed to help students get to know each other better, this engaging speaking and listening activity encourages students to ask thoughtful questions and learn about their peers. It's a fantastic way to build classroom community and promote communication skills right from the start.
Instructions
- Prepare Names: Write each student's name on a piece of paper and place them in a hat.
- Pair Students: Have students draw names from the hat to determine their interview partner.
- Prepare Questions: Give students time to write down 5-10 interview questions to ask their partner.
- Conduct Interviews: Students work in pairs to ask their prepared questions and listen attentively to their partner's responses.
- Record Responses: Each student records their partner's answers during the interview.
- Create Posters: Print the letter page on different coloured card stocks. Students mix and match colours to spell out their partner's name and glue it under the title "Introducing," as shown in the example.
- Personalise: Take a photo of each student to attach to their poster, showcasing their partner.
- Reflect and Share: Students present their completed posters to the class, sharing what they learned about their classmates.
