Persuasive Writing Templates
Help students argue their point with confidence — using clear, scaffolded persuasive writing templates.
Persuasive writing is one of the trickiest text types for primary students to master — but these templates make it so much easier. By breaking the persuasive structure into logical, guided steps, students learn how to form an opinion, build arguments with evidence, and write a compelling conclusion.
Perfect for Years 3–6, these templates support your explicit teaching while giving students the independence to develop their own voice and viewpoint.
Why teachers love it:
- Structure at a glance — students can see exactly how a persuasive text is built
- Vocabulary prompts — connective and persuasive language cues help students level up their word choices
- Assessment-ready — planned pieces align with NAPLAN and curriculum writing expectations
- Differentiation-friendly — works for a range of abilities with teacher support
Perfect for:
- Persuasive writing units and NAPLAN preparation
- Modelled and guided writing sessions
- English rotations and writing workshops
- Debate preparation and opinion writing tasks
- Supporting students who struggle to structure their ideas
