A classroom advent calendar made from your students' own artwork — one flap opened every morning.

Each student draws a Christmas picture on a blank backing square. You cover the squares with the numbered flaps, build the 5 × 5 grid on a wall or pinboard, and every December morning the class lifts the next number to reveal whose picture is underneath. It is simple, it looks beautiful by the second week, and the children ask for it every single day.

No-prep instant download — print, trim, display.

Why teachers love it:

  • Every child is in it — the calendar is their artwork, so the reveal matters to them
  • A two-minute daily ritual — the perfect start to a December morning meeting
  • Grows into a display — by Christmas you have a full wall of student art
  • Four colour sets — pink & aqua, red & green, coral & lime, or black & white to print on your own coloured card

Perfect for:

  • Years 1–6 Australian primary classrooms
  • December morning meetings and calendar time
  • Classroom Christmas displays that celebrate student work

What's included (60 pages, A4 PDF):

  • Numbered flaps 1–25 in four colour sets — black & white, pink & aqua, red & green and coral & lime (two flaps per page, 13 pages per set)
  • A blank backing-square sheet for each set, for student artwork (print as many as you need)
  • A "choose your set" page so you can print only the colourway you want
  • Quick instructions and tips — preparing the calendar, student artwork, the daily reveal and display ideas

Print and go — your Christmas countdown is sorted. 🖨️

HOW TO USE IT IN YOUR CLASSROOM

We've written a full guide on running an advent calendar in a primary classroom — including the problem nobody mentions: a 25-door calendar, and a December with only 13 school days in it.

📖 Read: The classroom advent calendar — 25 doors, 13 school days

Inside you'll find four ways to fit 25 doors into a real school term, a free student-drawn version you can run alongside this one, a five-step daily routine for the whiteboard, and the four things that usually go wrong (absences, prize creep, wall space, and the last week of term).
