Money Bags is a print-and-play Australian money board game for Years 1–3: roll, collect real Australian coins, and count up your money bag at the finish.

Players race along a winding bush track (kangaroo, koala, kookaburra, wombat and echidna all included) past coin squares and Miss a Turn squares. Land on a coin, take that coin from the bank. The moment anyone reaches FINISH, the game stops and everyone counts their money — the biggest money bag wins. It's quick to teach, easy to run in maths rotations, and gives students real practice recognising and adding Australian coins.

Why teachers love it:

  • Australian coins, true to size — 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 and $2 illustrations, shown in their real proportions
  • Counting with a purpose — students total a mixed handful of coins at the end of every game
  • Built-in recording sheet — Count Your Money tallies each coin, multiplies it out and finds the total
  • Maths rotations-ready — 2–4 players, a dice and a counter each; no teacher needed once it's set up
  • Easy to differentiate — younger students sort and count; older students record, exchange coins and compare totals

What's included (6-page PDF, A4):

  • How to Play page
  • Full-colour Money Bags game board
  • Coins to Cut Out sheet (6 of each coin, dashed cut lines)
  • Count Your Money recording sheet (black and white)
  • Terms of Use

Perfect for:

  • Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 money units
  • Maths rotations, learning centres and early finishers
  • Partner and small-group maths games
  • Revising coin values before an assessment
  • Homeschool families teaching Australian money
