Blast off into research writing — a creative space report craftivity that makes science shine.

This Space Report Craftivity combines research writing and hands-on creativity in one stellar project. Students research a topic from our solar system — a planet, the moon, the sun or beyond — and present their findings in a craftivity format that's as impressive as it is educational. The finished products make a breathtaking classroom display that celebrates curiosity and inquiry.

Perfect for Year 3 and Year 4 science units, or any space-themed inquiry project, this craftivity is one students talk about long after it's finished.

Why teachers love it:

  • Research and writing in one — students synthesise information into a written report
  • Stunning display piece — finished projects look amazing on a classroom wall or hallway display
  • Engages curious minds — space is one of the most naturally exciting topics for primary students
  • Scaffolded structure — templates guide students through the report writing process

Perfect for:

  • Year 3 and Year 4 Earth and Space Sciences units
  • Inquiry and project-based learning
  • STEM and science weeks
  • Reading and research integration tasks
  • Whole-class or individual projects

What's included:
A printable Space Report Craftivity template — students research and write a report about a space topic using the structured craftivity template, then assemble their finished piece for display.

3, 2, 1 — blast off into the best report writing your class has ever done.
