Planet Report
Launch your students on an out-of-this-world research journey with this engaging Planet Report template — packed with structured prompts to guide young scientists through their very own space exploration!
Teaching about our solar system is one of the most exciting units in primary science, and having the right research scaffold makes all the difference. This Planet Report template gives students a clear, structured framework to investigate any planet of their choice, covering everything from physical characteristics to distance from the sun. Students stay focused and on-task while developing critical research and writing skills — and the results make for sensational display pieces too!
Why teachers love it:
- Ready-to-use scaffold — the structured template guides students through their planet research without needing additional teacher instruction
- Builds research skills — students practise gathering and organising information from multiple sources in a meaningful, engaging context
- Works for any planet — use one template for the whole class researching different planets, or let students all choose their own
- Makes an impressive display — completed planet reports look fantastic on a classroom wall or as part of a solar system display
- No-prep, print-and-go — just print and distribute; the scaffold does the heavy lifting
