A vibrant display card for the vivacious /v/ sound — Letter V brings energy to your alphabet wall!

This Letter V display card introduces students to the /v/ sound as in "volcano" — a distinctive, voiced sound that's satisfying to say and easy to hear at the start of words. With its striking, angular shape, the letter V is visually memorable, and this bright display card makes it the centrepiece of any alphabet or phonics display.

Volcanoes, violins, vegetables — the /v/ sound opens up a world of rich vocabulary. Use this card to spark conversations about V words while reinforcing the visual shape of this eye-catching letter.

Why teachers love it:

  • Distinctive voiced sound — the /v/ sound in "volcano" is clearly voiced, helping students feel and hear the difference from /f/
  • Angular shape recognition — the V shape is visually striking and easy for students to identify on the wall
  • Rich vocabulary connection — "volcano" fires up student imagination and links to science topics
  • Display set companion — pairs beautifully with the full alphabet display set

Perfect for:

  • Alphabet display walls and phonics corners
  • Phonics lessons introducing the /v/ sound
  • Letter of the week — Letter V focus
  • Year 1 and Year 2 literacy programmes
  • Linking phonics to science vocabulary (volcanoes!)

What's included:
A printable Letter V display card featuring upper and lower case V, the /v/ sound, and a "volcano" key word illustration.

Very impressive — Letter V is ready to erupt on your classroom wall!
